Bora Bora

Bora Bora is a major international tourist destination, famous for this aqua-centric luxury resorts. The major settlement, Vaitape, is on the western side of the main island, opposite the main channel into the lagoon. Produce of the island is mostly limited to what can be obtained from the sea and the plentiful coconut trees, which were historically of economic importance for copra. According to a 2008 census, Bora Bora has a permanent population of 8,880. 




  • Location: Bora Bora is an island in the Pacific Ocean. It is located in the French Polynesia, and it is the overseas territory of France. Its original name is actually Pora Pora, the letter “b” doesn’t even exist in the local language, and it means “First Born.“ The island is 7 million years old but was first discovered in 1722. It is located about 160 miles northwest of Tahiti, and around 2600 miles south of Hawaii.

WEATHER 

Bora Bora weather is officially divided into two seasons, summer and winter. 
If you live in the northern hemisphere you may be surprised to know that the Bora Bora summer and winter seasons are at the opposite time of year to yours. Look on the map and you will see that French Polynesia is south of the equator. 


TYPICAL FOOD 

The main food of Bora Bora Island is fish. This island is Excellent in local cuisine where French style dishes mend with the island’s natural source of delicious fish and juicy fruit.
